IDOM NS offers a full portfolio of technical services and a wide knowledge of the different existing technologies seeking a safe, reliable and competitive operation.
Likewise, IDOM NS has carried out numerous projects related to fuel cycle facilities such as the Central Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF) , Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations (ISFSI), managing spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste and other radiological facilities (hospitals, research centres, etc.).
The IDOM NS professional services cover the majority of the technological and industrial engineering activities inherent to a nuclear facility ranging from initial site studies, basic, conceptural and detailed engineering, construction and decommissioning.
IDOM NS provides integrated and combined services such as EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning), EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management), CMA (Construction Management as Agent) or PMC (Project Management Consultancy) basis.
Throughout the life cycle stages of a nuclear facility we provide the client with our expertise on the regulatory procedures and more demanding operational, technological and licensing requirements focused on the development of nuclear safety, environmental protection and risk mitigation in a cost effective manner.
SAFETY CULTURE
Nuclear Safety is in the core of IDOM activities. This is supported by a process in which hazards and risks are identified and assessed on an ongoing basis in order to mitigate them by implementing preventive measures.
Our Nuclear Safety Culture is in close alignment with the world´s best performing plants and good industry practices.
The proposed Nuclear Safety Culture concept is based on International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and other International regulatory guidelines. Our Nuclear Safety Culture is in close alignment with the world’s best performing plants and good industry practices.
The Nuclear Safety Culture characteristics within the projects are in line with International and national practices, and consist of the following principles:
- Everyone is personally responsible for nuclear safety.
- Leaders demonstrate commitment to safety.
- Trust permeates the organization.
- Decision-making reflects safety first.
- Nuclear technology is recognized as special and unique.
- A questioning attitude is cultivated.
- Organizational learning is embraced.
- Nuclear safety undergoes constant examination.
Specific project activities and processes and organizational behaviours influence the Nuclear Safety Culture characteristics listed above. The initiative to support the Nuclear Safety Culture is driven by the presidency and involves all employees participation. The received feedback and lessons learned are utilized to further refine the Nuclear Safety Culture initiative. New employees are familiarized with Nuclear Safety Culture initiative during orientation training.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
IDOM NS has an integrated management system (NSMS) which aims to provide professional services within the Nuclear Industry. Such system is formed by our own Manuals and Procedures in accordance with the Safety Requirements of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), No.GS-R-3 “The Management System for Facilities and Activities”, along with its applicable Safety Guidelines.
The participation of our extended nuclear Quality Assurance team, which is independent and highly qualified, aims to ensure Safety for our clients’ work.
The NSMS specifically incorporates a Nuclear Quality Assurance Programme (NQAP) for offering services related to Management, Design, Fabrication, Supply, Commissioning and Decommissioning of Structures, Systems and Components (SSC) which are Important to Safety.
The NQAP is in accordance with and has been audited for: NRC 10CFR50 – APPENDIX B, ASME-NQA-1, UNE-73401, KTA-1401, INB Order 2012 and ISO-9001.
IDOM NS has been homologated and certified by all the Spanish Nuclear Power Plants and as a direct supplier of AREVA, Rolls Royce, Fusion For Energy (F4E) amongst others.
The participation of the extended nuclear Quality Assurance team, which is independent and highly qualified, aims to ensure Safety for our clients’ work through the continuous monitoring, control and improvement of the implementation of the NQAP requirements in projects developed by IDOM NS.
